Abbas

Abbas (b.1944) is an Iranian transplant to Paris, known for documenting the political and social life of societies in conflict and navigating the faith and practice of different religions across the world. His book on the Iranian Revolution, Iran Diary 1971-2002 (2002) is his critical interpretation of Iranian history and Return to Mexico: Journeys Beyond the Mask (1992), he attempts to photograph a country as a novelist might write about it. Abbas mounted works studying Islam, Christianity, Animism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and the clash of religions, were produced from these studies: Allah O Akbar: A Journey Through Militant Islam (1994) and Faces of Christianity: A Photographic Journey (2000).
