This image was taken a year after Thomas Dworzak became a full member of Magnum Photos. Stepping away from the chaos of demonstrations sometimes offers a different sense of clarity. Protests in Kyrgyzstan in March of 2005 saw thousands take to the streets against the country's parliamentary elections. The momentum and scale was unexpected. Having photographed the revolution on the streets, the photograph that holds most resonance to him was taken the following day. This image shows the smashed window of a beauty parlor, glass shattered by bullet holes covering a poster of pouting lips.
