Paolo Pellegrin

Paolo Pellegrin (b. 1964), originally from Rome, he studied architecture at L'Università la Sapienza then photography at l'istituto Italiano di Fotografia, both also in Rome. Pellegrin was previously represented by Agence VU in Paris and he contract photographer for Newsweek for ten years. Pellegrin is winner of many awards, including ten World Press Photo awards, numerous Photographer of the Year awards, a Leica Medal of Excellence, an Olivier Rebbot Award, the Hansel-Meith Preis, the Robert Capa Gold Medal Award, and in 2006, he was awarded the W. Eugene Smith Grant in Humanistic Photography.

His books include: Bambini (1997), Cambogia (1998), L'au delà est là (2001), Kosovo 1999-2000: The Flight of Reason ( 2002), Double Blind (2007), As I Was Dying (2007), Photo Poche (2010), Dies Irae (2011), Paolo Pellegrin (2012), and 100 Photos of Paolo Pellegrin for Press Freedom (2013).
